Tic-Tac-Toe ✕⭘
Two players, one device — tap a square to take your turn.
How to play
Tic-Tac-Toe here is built for two people sharing one screen — no computer opponent. Player X always goes first. Take turns tapping an empty square to place your mark, and the first player to line up three marks in a row, column, or diagonal wins the round.
If all nine squares fill up with no line of three, the round ends in a draw. Either way, tap Play Again to reset the board for the next round — your scoreboard keeps counting until you tap New Match.
A couple of strategy tips
The center square is part of four possible winning lines, so it's usually the strongest opening move if it's free. Corners come next — they're each part of three winning lines, while edge squares are only part of two.
Watch the board one move ahead: if your opponent has two marks in a line with the third square open, block it before making your own move. Skilled players who both block correctly will usually draw — that's normal, not a sign either player is doing it wrong.
Common questions
Is this against a computer opponent?
No — this version is local two-player, pass-and-play. Two people share one device and alternate turns as X and O.
Do we need an account?
No sign-up, no download. It's free to play right in the browser, on desktop or mobile.
Can we name ourselves instead of "Player X" and "Player O"?
Yes — type your names into the two fields above the board and the turn indicator and results will use them.
